Corporate Responsibility
The impact the construction industry has upon society is immense. The infrastructure we deliver influences the physical and mental wellbeing of the people who live in and interact with it. Therefore, we’re constantly developing and maintaining an attitude of social responsibility in everything we do to improve our standards of considerate construction.
We measure the success of our corporate responsibility by how we:
- Stimulate our local economy
- Generate work and opportunities
- Foster diversity
- Reduce environmental impact
- Respect people, and
- Fully understand how our actions directly impact our community and our families
LOCAL ECONOMY
LEED® AND OTHER GREEN STANDARDS
Our projects speak to our commitment to sustainable construction practices. The Optima Onyx Tower displays a double glass that is installed on the east and west side of the building. The project is set to become the first LEED Platinum high-rise tower in South Florida.
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING PRACTICES
Sustainability becomes increasingly important with each project challenge. It has evolved so that not only do we consider energy-efficiency in buildings but also total user wellness. The integration of these two conscious principles during the planning and delivery of a construction project gives us the ability to facilitate healthier places to the communities we serve.
Our commitment to responsible operations has led many of our experts to attain LEED® certification and increase their knowledge and engagement in areas beyond traditional construction. This is what sets us apart from other companies.
Understanding the LEED® and other green-based frameworks, like WELL, ensures that our team takes advantage of every possible sustainable feature. This becomes especially fruitful and beneficial for clients whose operations happen on a non-interrupted basis, including hospitals, airports, schools, among others.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
NV2A works to give back to our community through quality projects that we can all be proud about, as well as through active engagement in social affairs and initiatives. We share a deep commitment to building up our community, and over the years, the names of all NV2A leaders can be found on boards of directors of philanthropic organizations such as YMCA, Miami Light House for the Blind, South Florida Hospital Association, Mercy Hospital Foundation, FIU Foundation, FIU Center of Leadership, Arsht Center Trust, Enterprise Florida, Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors, the Construction Industry Round Table, Orange Bowl Committee, as well as supporting the United Way and many other social initiatives.
Construction sites in general also have a significant impact on communities, and therefore present opportunities to create value and a positive reflection of our work. As part of NV2A’s project delivery approach, our team prepares a Public Involvement Plan that addresses communication and interaction with the community, project logistics and safety standard adherence, all aiming to enhance our employees’ and the public’s overall experience as we leave our footprint in the places we serve.
