The collective wisdom under a design-build approach is key to the overall success of a project. The integrated contract model can be a multi-party agreement between Owner, Architect and Contractor or the more traditional contract being an agreement between Owner and Contractor, for a one source of accountability. Regardless of which path is pursued, the ultimate objective within a design-build delivery is to maximize the team’s collaboration and creative process through which significant time and money savings for the Owner can be achieved.

NV2A understands design-build from the preconstruction phase. Our in-house preconstruction team brings diverse specialties into the estimating and value engineering process from the start, including mechanical, electrical, civil, concrete/steel and finishes. Complementing our staff is a vast network of local subcontractors who are oftentimes contracted to infuse our efforts with their in-depth perspective of trade scheduling, material procurement, and pricing. We also approach our design-build delivery with integrated lean construction methods and virtual design and construction, all in the name of agility.

As all parties come together to collaborate, our team develops complete and accurate design documents, establishes an accurate schedule, phasing and staging plans to minimize interruptions to the Owner’s operation, and maintains cost projections as construction weaves in. This results in a controlled and efficient construction delivery, where the Owner enjoys from open communication, transparency, and agile completion of his or her important investment.
